Prayer for Mission in this Diocese

O gracious and loving God, you work everywhere reconciling, loving, and healing your people and your creation. In your Son and through the power of your Holy Spirit, you invite each of us to join in your work. We, young and old, lay and ordained, ask you to form us more and more in your image and likeness, through our prayer and worship of you and through the study of your scripture, that our eyes will be fully opened to your mission in the world. Then, God, into our communities, our nation, and the world, send us to serve Christ, taking risks to give life and hope to all people and all of your creation. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is a place of worship and spiritual serenity for all members of the community who wish to join in the spirit of fellowship.  Our mission is to provide a spiritual haven in which to foster the love of God, to nurture and comfort those in need, to reach out to those less fortunate, and to live and walk in the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our ministry is to serve our families, our friends and our neighbors as an integral part of  the Bristol Cluster and to move forward in love and strength as members of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America.

A PRAYER FOR FAMILIES

God our Father, you see your chidren growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals.  Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start.  Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy
in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
